Welcome to the Workshop on Molecular Evolution photo gallery.
As of 2005, we have a photo gallery available! It's based on Gallery, and it allows students and faculty to upload and share their photos from the Workshop.
Getting a gallery account
Everyone can view photos in the gallery, but to upload them, you'll need an account. When you first access the gallery, you'll see a "register" icon at the top right corner of the screen. Click it, pick a username, and supply your full name and email address. An email will be sent to you with instructions on how to set your password and activate your account. Once you have an account, you can use the "login" icon (also at top-right) to login. You will now be able to upload photos and create new albums inside of the "Workshop 2007" gallery.
Creating new albums
To create a new album, select "new nested album" from the "album actions" drop-down menu at top-right. (Remember, you can only create new albums inside the "Workshop 2007" album.) This will create a new nested album called "Untitled." You can then use the "properties" option in the "album actions" menu to set the album's title (descriptive text shown to users navigating the gallery) and the album's name (short name for the album used in its URL). You can also use the "permissions" entry for the "album actions" menu to allow other users more control over your album; by default, they will only be able to add new photos and modify (recaption, rotate, etc) photos that they have uploaded.
Uploading Photos
To add photos to an existing album, just pick "add photos" from the "album actions" menu. You'll be presented with a form; use the "browse" buttons to pick which photos you'd like to upload, then submit the form. (You can also submit a zipfile full of photos, if you have lots to upload.)
